It’s funny, maybe not so much, how much one of the great loves of my life has fallen by the wayside.
So much so, that an eventful day passed a few months back and I was far too caught up in the terror of what I was dealing with at the moment that it anniversary passed totally unnoticed.
Way, way back on March 15 2003, I wrote this:
Now, here I am a decade later and all I can think is where did the time go?
Some things are better, some things are worse. I am of course 10 years older now so that effects a lot of my day to day outlook. Ten years gone by in the blink of an eye and when I think about how rapidly that time went by I could get very, very scared if I were to contemplate just how quickly time does pass and what that means.
I have been writing lately... just not so much here. And the funny thing is while I am not inclined to publicly share what I have written, it has seen a wider audience than anything I ever wrote here on the blog and it has elicited very strong reactions which is even more amazing. I would have to say it is even a bit encouraging because it indicates to me I can do this, this writing thing and I can spin a yarn well enough that people will walk away entertained.
So, after a decade of training... the real work begins.
I have an abundance of things that are still awaiting birth, conceived but yet to be pushed forth, birthed into the cold harsh world but the time is right.
Lots has been going on and little has been going on. If that makes some kind of strange logic at all to you.
People come and go into one’s life and crisis are endured and there are quiet days too. All in all it isn’t all that bad, it could be better but it could be a lot worse.
Anyway, I haven’t forgotten my beloved blog. And when I think on it, I really do love my blog even if I have let it languish. I love that I can always go back and use it as a marker not just for myself but for what was going on and what occupied my attention at the time.
I won’t use the Schwarzenegger line but I think there will be some big things happening very, very soon.

Well, this feels somewhat akin to walking into a new house: a big open space, empty rooms and bare walls. You look around and try to figure out what you're going to put in the house and what you're going to hang on the walls. And like a new house, there are no shades or blinds covering the windows so, you wind up feeling a little exposed. As with any journey, you can’t even begin to imagine what the world will be like when you come to the end of that journey.
Admittedly, there is a certain amount of exhibitionism implied by the act of writing down your thoughts and posting them onto the web for the world to see. I don't know what I'll put up here or how bold I'll be. I hope to exercise muscles that aren't used as much as I would like to keep them from atrophying. If anything, I'll wind up showing the world just how horribly I spell and how badly I can mangle the English language.
I spend so much god awful time sitting in front of a computer, you'd think it should wind up being a little productive. Time will tell and I guess we'll just have to see.
Now, here I am a decade later and all I can think is where did the time go?
